Welcome to Michigan Film Corps
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2009, Michigan Film Corps (MFC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting Michigan students with film industry professionals.
With offices in Michigan and Los Angeles, MFC brings together film producers, students and local community members to produce feature films. We provide unique benefits and incredible opportunities for filmmakers and film lovers alike.
Michigan Film Corps provides a cost-effective feature film for producers, as well as invaluable on-set experience for Michigan’s next generation of student filmmakers.
FOR PRODUCERS
By utilizing “best of the best” volunteer student crews, producers are able to stretch their finances further. Culled from Michigan’s universities and film training programs, top-level students bring their passion and skills to the set every day.
The pros fill the above-the-line and key crew positions, training and mentoring the all-student crew. Industry professionals guide the production every step of the way.
FOR STUDENTS
Michigan Film Corps provides students a chance to gain invaluable, on-set professional experience. Choose from a wide variety of positions available in pre-production, production, post-production and marketing.
Guided by film industry professionals every step of the way, students work high-level crew positions usually reserved for those “with more experience.” This is the opportunity to jumpstart your filmmaking career.
This is the opportunity for Michigan students to increase on-set confidence, to further build their professional résumé and contacts, and to gain hands-on experience into the entire filmmaking process.
FOR MICHIGAN
Filmmaking boosts Michigan’s economy. The following are just a few examples of businesses that benefit directly from film production: Hotels, Caterers, Construction, Vehicle Rentals, Local Eateries, Advertising, Equipment Rentals, Local Gas Stations…and many more!
