Michigan Film Corps: Rally for Film Incentives on August 18th

A large film industry rally is being coordinated in Lansing on Tuesday, August 18, from 9am--1pm on the East steps of the Michigan Capital building. Michigan Film Corps encourages anyone interested in supporting the awesome Michigan film incentives to attend and let your voice be heard! Dianna Higgs Stampfler, an organizer and member of the Michigan Production Alliance says: "The purpose of the event is to ward off the counter-productive negative publicity being disseminated in the media about the demise of the film bills." The theme of the event is "Film Incentives Benefit Everyone." Higgs Stampfler continues, "40% of nothing is nothing! This is new money that would not have come to Michigan had it not been for these visionary bills." Signs will be provided to anyone who attends the rally. Organizers hope to get one thousand people on the East steps of the Capital on Tuesday morning. "Bring a chair, an umbrella and your support for the incentives!"
