David Patton is an award-winning filmmaker who has been writing, producing and directing for over eleven years. His latest short film, Rhapsody in Red, won the Best of Fest award at the Real to Reel Film Festival; Best Short Comedy at the Long Island Film Festival; and Best of Student Competition at The Chris Awards. He also won major festival awards for his short films J.C. and Buford the Bull.

Since the Michigan production incentives passed, David has been working both in Michigan and Los Angeles. He recently worked on the film Fast and Furious and the television shows 24 and CSI: Miami. Patton also worked as an assistant director on Offspring, the feature film shot in Muskegon, Michigan.

Patton served as the Marketing Consultant for another made-in-Michigan feature, 2010 Sundance Film Festival selection Bilal’s Stand.

Patton graduated with honors in 2005 from Grand Valley State University, with a B.S. in Film Production. He currently works in Michigan and Los Angeles.

Amanda Bierlein-Patton

A film producer and manager, Amanda Patton is responsible for the award-winning films Rhapsody in Red, UpFlush, Buford the Bull, and J.C. Patton is a creative, hands-on producer heavily involved with the film festival circuit. She is a commercial and industrial writer/editor, with credits including the “Mindgating” television commercial and informational video for Fortune 500 company Stryker Medical.

Patton is also an accomplished event planner. In 2003, she created the first ever ClueQuest® in Saginaw, Michigan. Since then, she has put on the yearly adventure road rally each year to more success and community participation. ClueQuest 2009 featured over eighty participants and over a dozen business locations. Patton has coordinated numerous fundraisers, casino-themed events, Halloween fundraisers, weddings and much more. She is currently writing her first how-to book on successful event planning.

Patton is an active member in the charitable organization Kohl’s Cares for Kids, which is dedicated to volunteering for children’s programs and charities in the community. Amanda brings her extensive film production experience, professional management and event-planning skills to Michigan Film Corps.
